Job overview
Reelgood is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our remote engineering team as we continue to deliver new features, make our award winning app more useful and intuitive, and work on bug fixes and code review. As an engineer on our mobile team you will be part of a close-knit distributed team that works on our iOS, tvOS and Android mobile applications. You will also be working with our product, design, web, and backend teams on similar projects. Due to the size of our mobile team and rapid product & company growth you will have an enormous impact on the future of Reelgood.
Key responsibilities and outcomes:
- Deliver best in class solutions – work with different technologies, languages & frameworks in all components of the mobile applications.
- Plan, and estimate road map items for the mobile products with your fellow developers.
- Support on-demand requests from other teams within Reelgood
- Work in an agile development environment (Kanban, iterative development, short release cycles).
- Optimize the performance of existing components and refactor where needed.
- Code, Test, Review & Deploy!
Qualifications (Ideal):
- Senior to lead level software engineer with at least 5 years experience working in Android development ideally with Kotlin.
- Great communicator, and motivated to learn and teach.
- Experience working remotely or with a distributed team
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively to improve processes and products but knows when to stop and ask for help.
- You are ideal for the job if you are comfortable working with loosely defined problem spaces and you are excited about learning new concepts and technologies quickly.
- Highly detail oriented with an understanding that high quality work will ensure a great user and developer experience across all our platforms for years to come.
- You enjoy keeping up to date with the latest technologies out of passion and bringing new ideas to the team by challenging the status-quo.
- You are logical, a fast learner, humble and love to share knowledge.
