Reelgood Streaming Data Solution Updates [Dec 2025]

By David Markowitz | December 12, 2025

Product Improvements & New Offerings

At Reelgood, providing the most accurate and comprehensive TV & movie metadata and streaming availability data is our primary focus.

Reelgood indexes 280,000+ movies and almost 68,000 TV shows across multiple markets.  That’s a job in itself.

But critically, this content moves to and from different services constantly.  And new content is continually being released, from the latest blockbusters and indie films to new episodes of TV shows – and new TV shows themselves – dropping daily.

Our data collection, machine learning, analytics and data quality teams are updating and maintaining this dataset continually.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what’s new across the platform. We’ve focused on accuracy, coverage, and global expansion, so your teams have cleaner, more complete data every day.

Quality and Coverage Improvements

  • WikiID matching: Movie coverage increased 11%, now at 84% for top titles.
  • Episode normalization: All fractional episode numbers (e.g., 1.1) have been corrected. Episode numbers are now fully standardized as integers across the database.
  • Streaming service links improved accuracy: A new system correctly chooses between ambiguous links to the same piece of content on the same streaming service (e.g., link to the main version vs a sing-along version).

Streaming Service Updates

  • Apple TV branding: Updated “AppleTV+” to “Apple TV” to reflect Apple’s current naming.
  • Fox One: Added support for Fox One following the deprecation of Fox Now.

TV Metadata Improvements

  • Eliminating duplicate episodes: We released an upgraded ML model that applies a much finer-tooth comb to our episode data. It surfaced duplicates that earlier versions missed, and we’ve already eliminated those. The model now runs QA continuously in the background; with ongoing refinements, we’ll keep catching/addressing the remaining edge cases.

New Offerings

New Countries

We aimed to complete global coverage by year-end and delivered.

Prior Data Solution Updates

Below are when a number of the aforementioned updates, as well as others, were released to customers:

Nov 2025

  • Improved Source Link Selection: We’ve implemented logic to prioritize the primary link for each title in Reelgood. Previously, when multiple links existed (e.g., a main link and a sing-along version), the selection was random. The system now consistently selects the main link as the default in Reelgood.
  • Fractional Episodes Removed: All fractional episode numbers (e.g., 1.1) have been corrected. Episode numbers are now standardized as integers across our database.
  • Ongoing Fix: Episode Release Date Issues
We’ve begun addressing cases where episodes had earlier release dates than the first episode of their season. The issue affected ~13K seasons initially and has been reduced to 9.6K. Work is ongoing.
  • Deletion of ~2,000 duplicate episodes. Work is ongoing.
