Reelgood Streaming Top 10: Widow’s Bay Takes #1 in Its Finale Week, Apple TV Lands Two of the Top Three
Here’s your Reelgood Streaming Top 10 (movies & TV) snapshot forJune 11 to June 17:
Widow’s Bay has the crown, and the timing is hard to miss. The Apple TV horror comedy climbs from #2 to #1 the same week its first-season finale aired on June 17, capping a five-week run on the chart. Spider-Noir, which held #1 for two straight weeks, falls to #5.
Apple TV didn’t stop at the top spot. Cape Fear climbs from #5 to #3, giving the service two of the week’s three highest-ranked titles. The only new arrival, They Will Kill You, debuts at #2 on HBO Max.
Below the top, the chart held its shape. Office Romance, The Boroughs, and Send Help each stayed exactly where they sat last week, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind held #7 as Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day opened in theaters. The ten titles span eight services this week, up from seven, with no platform claiming more than two slots.
This past week’s highlights:
- A new number one in finale week: Widow’s Bay climbs from #2 to #1 on Apple TV, its first week at the top after two weeks at #2. The move coincides with the series airing its season 1 finale on June 17, inside this chart window, days after Apple TV renewed it for a second season. The title has now charted for five consecutive weeks.
- Apple TV lands two of the top three: Alongside Widow’s Bay at #1, Cape Fear climbs from #5 to #3, giving Apple TV two of the week’s three highest-ranked titles. No other service placed more than one title in the top five.
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Peacock): The 1977 Spielberg film holds #7 for a second straight week, coinciding with the June 12 theatrical opening of his new alien feature, Disclosure Day. Universal positions the film as a thematic successor to Close Encounters, and both share Peacock as the studio’s streaming home. The pattern echoes The Devil Wears Prada, whose original climbed the chart when its sequel hit theaters.
- Spider-Noir (Prime Video): Nicolas Cage’s series falls from #1 to #5 after holding the top spot for two consecutive weeks. It is Prime Video‘s only entry this week, down from two last week.
- They Will Kill You (HBO Max): The week’s only debut lands at #2, the highest new entry and HBO Max‘s lone title on the chart.
- Dutton Ranch (Paramount+): The latest entry in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe returns at #10 after a two-week absence, with a new episode arriving June 12 inside the window. The series set a record as the biggest original debut in Paramount+ history, and it last charted at #9 the week of May 21 to 27.
- The carry-overs hold: Office Romance (#4, Netflix), The Boroughs (#8, Netflix), and Send Help (#9, Hulu) each held their exact position from last week. Send Help, a former #1 from the week of May 14 to 20, is now in its fifth straight week on the chart; The Boroughs is in its fourth.
