Reelgood Streaming Top 10: Backrooms Debuts at #1, Unabomber at #2, and Apple TV Ends a 21-Week Run

Here’s your Reelgood Streaming Top 10 (movies & TV) snapshot for September 24-30, 2026:

Two new titles debut at the top. Backrooms enters at #1 on HBO Max and Unabomber at #2 on Netflix, pushing last week’s #1, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, down to #3. Both films started streaming on September 25, the second day of this week’s window. Backrooms is A24’s highest-grossing film.

Six of the ten titles are new entries, and six titles from last week drop off: Practical Magic, Reacher, Mayday, Slow Horses, Obsession, and Tuner.

Seven services placed a title, up from six last week. HBO Max, Netflix, and Prime Video hold two spots each. Paramount+, Disney+, Peacock, and Hulu have one apiece. Apple TV had two titles last week, Mayday and Slow Horses, and has none this week.

This past week’s highlights:

  • Last-day premieres chart the following week, again: The Love Hypothesis and Toy Story 5 both started streaming on September 23, the final day of last week’s window, and neither made that chart. With a full week of eligibility, The Love Hypothesis enters at #4 on Prime Video and Toy Story 5 enters at #7 on Disney+. Last week followed the same sequence: Neagley and Slow Horses premiered on September 16, the last day of the September 10-16 window, missed that chart, and entered the next week.
  • Netflix holds two of the top three: Unabomber, a crime drama about Ted Kaczynski starring Jacob Tremblay and Russell Crowe, joins Monster in the top three. Monster is now in its second week after all eight episodes were released on September 17.
  • Ryan Murphy anthologies on two services: American Horror Story enters at #10 on Hulu after its thirteenth season premiered September 24 with three episodes, streaming on Hulu the same day they aired on FX. With Monster at #3 on Netflix, anthologies co-created by Murphy hold two spots on two services. The American Horror Story season runs through an October 29 finale.
  • Apple TV shut out: Apple TV is off the chart for the first time since late April, ending a run of 21 straight weeks with at least one title. Mayday (#7) and Slow Horses (#8) both drop off. Slow Horses‘ exit isn’t a season-end fade, since its sixth season keeps releasing one episode weekly through October 21.
  • The Reacher universe cools on Prime Video: Reacher drops off after six straight weeks on the chart, two weeks after its fourth-season finale aired September 16. Neagley falls from #2 to #8 in its second full week, leaving The Love Hypothesis as Prime Video‘s top-ranked title.
  • Lanterns (HBO Max): Slips from #4 to #5 in its seventh straight week on the chart and hasn’t ranked lower than #5 since its August 16 premiere. The season finale airs October 4.
  • Promising Young Woman (Peacock): Emerald Fennell’s 2020 film enters at #9. It’s the week’s only catalog entry: the other nine titles are 2026 films or seasons that premiered in August or September.

Reelgood Streaming Top 10 chart for September 24 to September 30, 2026, ranking ten movies and TV shows: Backrooms on HBO Max at #1, Unabomber on Netflix at #2, Monster on Netflix at #3, The Love Hypothesis on Prime Video at #4, Lanterns on HBO Max at #5, MobLand on Paramount+ at #6, Toy Story 5 on Disney+ at #7, Neagley on Prime Video at #8, Promising Young Woman on Peacock at #9, and American Horror Story on Hulu at #10.
